Several people have been seriously injured after the commuter omnibus they were traveling on overturned, rolled and landed on its its roof towards  Norton.

The commuter omnibus was reportedly heading towards Norton from Harare along Bulawayo – Harare Road when it burst its rear Tyre and veered off the road.

An eye witness who also survived the accident with minor injuries said when the tyre burst, the driver was managing to control it only to be disturbed by a female passenger who tried to control the steering at the same time with the driver causing him to lose control.

“The driver lost control of the vehicle after being disturbed by the passenger and the kombi overturned and rolled before landing on its roof,” said the witness.

“Several people were injured some seriously. Police arrived at the scene after several minutes later.”
